Reason for the Challenge:
Our friend Jacqueline Combier tragically left us on February 5, 2024 in a road accident.
The Sanvignes Twinning Committee, of which she had been an active member for many years, wished to pay tribute to her with an event that would last over time.
Jacqueline was, among other things, passionate about photos, travel and making new friends.
An annual photo challenge taking place in our three Twin Towns, Baldock, Eisenberg, Sanvignes was therefore created in 2025. The theme was flowers.
We had 15 photos from Baldock, 19 from Eisenberg and 103 from Sanvignes.
The final jury, under the chairmanship of Noëmie Lekehal, granddaughter of Jacqueline, photographer and artist, designated the city of Eisenberg winner of the 2025 edition with the photo of Wolfgang Rohnert, entitled Storchenschnabel (you can see the winning photo in the final image of this post).
The trophy was therefore presented to the city of Eisenberg during the Christmas market at the end of November along with the 9 photos of the finalists to exhibit.
The Details:
The theme of the 2026 challenge, chosen by the Eisenberg Committee, is: "Doors, portals and regional windows: symbols of openness and meeting".
Each photo entry must sent with the photographer's name, date of birth, address, email and contact number, as well as the date and place the photo was taken and the title chosen for the photo. Entries must be sent to baldocktowntwinning@gmail.com.
Each photo must be of sufficient resolution to allow printing in 30x45 format or equivalent.
The challenge is open to all amateur photographers from each town and surrounding towns. They do not need to be members of a Town Twinning Association.
Each participating photographer can enter a maximum of 3 pictures for the challenge. The photos will not necessarily be photos of the town, but they must correspond to the specifications of the challenge and theme determined by the organiser.
The photo rights of the pictures will be acquired by the Sanvignes Twinning Committee as soon as they are part of the 3 photos selected by each committee.
The Twinning Committee that wins the trophy and the name of the author of the chosen photo will be announced each year on September 11, Jacqueline's birthday.
This challenge is free for participants. The photos will be exhibited in Sanvignes and then be made available to the other committees.
